Dr. Manuel informed our team that the water project has been completed and by the grace of God the community of Jardin de Primavera now has PURE water for their homes. As they were manually digging the trenches to place the pipes in the ground, they came across another water source that can be used to provide irrigation to their crops. A double blessing!
The two water sources are located 3 kilometers away from the village, which means a great deal of manual labor was involved to bring the water to this reservoir so it can be used. It took 3 years to get this work completed. In the photo to the right you will see the reservoir has two holding areas. The open area is for the water that will be used to irrigate their crops. The closed area is for their clean drinking water for their homes.
This is the last reservoir just outside of Jardin de Primavera.

Today was the dedication ceremony for the water project that was conceived 3 years ago. During the dedication ceremony, one of the speakers shared examples of their drinking water prior to the project and what the water quality looks like now. I should've shaken the bottle on the left before I took this picture because as you can see the sediment has settled at the bottom of the bottle. Still, the water is very dirty and this was their only option before the water project.
The good news is their water source is now crystal clear and pure. This will have a HUGE impact on their health in the community of Jardin de Primavera. In America, too many people take so many things for granted. Going to a faucet and having clean, usable water is NOT the norm in this world. The vast majority (roughly 80%) of the people do not have clean water at their convenience. This community is very thankful to God for providing them with this pure water.
